Title: Edition 30 - Green Foot brake warning light : DSG
Post by: SO8 on 10 April 2008, 19:36
Hi,

Just got my Edition 30 after a wait of just over a month and it's great !

Quick question though ....

After using the car and putting the car into park and handbrake on when stationary, when I then take my foot off the footbrake the green foot brake warning light illuminates .... wanting my foot back on the footbrake.... even though, as I say, it is in park or neutral and the handbrake is on (with its sign  illuminated on the dash).  If I put my foot back on the footbrake it goes out.

Now the handbrake is definitely on and the car is defintitely not in gear and shows 'P' or 'N'.

Is this normal ?  The handbook seems to indicate it thinks it's not in P or N for this to happen or am I wrong ?

Car seens 100% fine in all other respects.

I tried searching but got nowhere ... so advice / comments appreciated.

You will also notice you wont be able to take it out of Park or select D from N unless you have the brake pedal pressed in  (although if your moving you can go from N to D).

Press the brake on/off with you hand on the gearstick and you feel the click of the lock.
