lol hey r32uk im only 22!!!
yeah i seen a DSG GTI today
i sat down and got "things into perspective" as the salesman said, went through all the figures and stuff.. going to partx mine for it.
All seems ok and was about to do the deal but went for one last good look around it and found the engine cover broken and its had 2 owners from new, only 1 key and looks as if the rear carpet lining on the right side had been removed or sumet just didnt look right ..
So i said id sleep on it and let them know tomorrow as im losing alot of cash on what i paid for mine and them lil things aswell.
Im going to ring VW tomorrow and ask them some questions about it as i thought its worth a check to see if its had an accident or any work done to it. Not done a HPI either.
If its all good im gunna do the deal.
-
Best of luck...just be smart about the deal

well i just come back from the VW dealer, gave them all the info i had on the car and there saying its an import GTI.
Its not even on there UK database but it is on the EU database but has no warrenty?
Its an 2006 model and the guy said it import cars only get a 2 year warrenty and advised me not to buy an import as resale values are upto £1500 less than UK cars and because he cant check if its had any repairs done the only way would be something like an MOT.
While we was chatting he was asking why i wanted to get rid of mine? i said as i want a DSG so anyway we got chatting and stuff and he made me realise that it isnt worth all the money id lose out on partx as ive not even had my GTI 6months.
I think im going to drive and enjoy mine for a little longer than sell my car private try to get as much back as i can.
He was also saying a laserblue gti is rare in color and they get a lot of requests for laserblue Golfs :smug:
Oooh also theres an ecu update and recall from vw on the gtis from 2008 so booked mine in for tuesday.
its worth finding out if yours has had it!!!
all 57+ plate golfs dont need it.
forgot to ask if its cleared by warrenty?
-
Sticking with your car over the import one sounds good to me. There are quite a few DSG's out there though.

I had mine in for service 2 weeks ago and asked, they said there hasnt been a software update for a year.
Do with the info what you will as it came from a dealer so it possibly only 50% true at best.

i think he ment all mk5 golfs.. im not sure
i asked again about the warrenty so its free.. mayaswell let them do it and ill ask what/ if anythings been changed
ill still be keeping a look out for a nice dsg gti...
