-

about right i think, i have tried spray carpet adhesive (which peels off in the summer) and evostick contact adhesive (warps the headlining)
just make sure you get the right headlining i.e. 3/5 door, with/without sunroof

have a look for a guide, i saw one somewhere. I did mine a few months ago... I used a metal scourer to get all the old faom off the heavy dudy carpet adhesive. It worked a treat. Is hard to get it out the car without breaking bits though!

hhmmm!!!

^^^ blimey you're close!
the factory headlinings are a nightmare to try and re-stick. i have some hardcore spray glue which i use for headlinings and so far have had no problems with it. the problem is making it look halfway decent to stick it back on. also the headlining would need to be removed to do the job properly.

hallo fellow west sussex dweller. What glue did you use? theres an array of them of ebay.
-
And another west sussex member in worthing
Only just got a mk2 golf and keep meaning to get some pictures up on here!!
I had a headlining that was held up with drawing pins and it looked like a past owner had tried everything to stick it back up. Luckily I went to Bridges scrappy by crawley and found another 5 door golf with an immaculate headlining. Promptly removed it and grabbed a new centre console as well for £15!!
Id say just try to get a new one as my old one was ruined!
-
try a staple gun  ghetto style
-
There is a headlining on ebay for £20, otherwise use some hardcore stuff like Joe said.
-
its a hardcore carpet adhesive but a high temperature one. if you look for a high temp spray it should be fine. you're looking for upwards of 60 degree's really.
-
how hard/easy is it to remove the lining?
-
gonna replace the lining. can i use any material or does it have to be foamed?
