Hi Hurdy, whats the story with register for the ED 30's? I noticed that the list stops after seventy odd I think.
-
The original idea was instigated by the UKMIV site as an unofficial way of getting all the ED30's registered, so that they could eventually be numbered.
In light of recent events of the overproduction of the ED30's I don't exactly know what they are going to do on that site :undecided:
Also looking at the register, there are people from all over (not just the UK). This begs the question as to whether even the owners based in the UK have an official UK car.
The original idea was good in its conception, but now is becoming flawed in practice
I'll give it another two or three months before I delete it as a sticky.

Cheers mate.

LOL, changed a bit since then
-
lol...any chance any one know the quickest ED30 in the UK? Possibly MK5 GTI even??
-
Unknown for definite, but at a guess the quickest GTI is most likely Awesome's demo car.
The fastest ED30? There could be someone out there who has already gone for the APR Stage 3 conversion?
GTI Spring festival at Santa Pod will give some indication of what speed you can hope to get out of a GTI, ED30 and R32.
GTI International may give an even better indication due to the size of the event and that it is held over 2 days. Some of the terminal speeds were a bit dodgy though :undecided:
-
Abit Dodgy in what sense? Im really hoping some one can get a good write up with some descent pics to how this weekends event was? (im pretty sure iv read a few ppl here saying they will prepare themselves for the weekend so im guessin gthere is something)
Unfortunatley, yet again i cant be there!

Are there any stats on the Awesome car such as 0-60, 1/4 mile time etc etc?
Just fancy knowing after clinging on for dear life in the back of it

The Awesome car only had the stage 1 map and the original turbo.
I'd suspect that it is capable of a 12.5 second qtr and 0-60 in around 4.5 seconds. The 0-60 may seem relatively high for a car with 380bhp, but traction is the issue with a FWD. Once the car is off the mark then it is faster than a Porsche 997 C4S - easily!!
