Hi i've got a mk2 golf gti 8v and its running the original digifant engine. ive found an engine for sale and was wondering if it would work. the spec of the engine is this;
-Overbored 1800 8v k jet engine to 2008cc
-83mm bore
-long stroke crank
-Kobelschmit pistons
-rebalanced crank
-new main, big end and small end bearings
-gasflowed pb coded cylinder head with enlarged ports
-new valve guides and tappets
-piper ultimate road cam (bp285)
-Four branch stainless manifold
-sachs sport clutch
-new genuine gaskets, housings and pumps
-new cambelt and tensioner
included is a 8v gearbox, loom, ecu, ALL ancillaries!,
its a k jet engine running digifant injector seats and ancillaries, in fact it still has the complete digi setup attached to it!( inlet manifold, air flow metre, ecu, loom, lternaor water pump all belts, injectors, distributor etc etc)
My question is would this work? Is it actually possible convert them from k jet to digifant? Any help would be great
Cheers Daniel

hi, yes its possible and its relativly easy, but just watch out for engines built on peoples benches at home. Some are spot on but you get some which people mess up and it willl end up smashing its self to peices with in 100 miles so just make sure its well built up, even the ones where people spent £Â£Ã‚£ on new parts, some people dont put much effort into the rebuild itys a precision job!!. I say that as i am a mechanical engineer and rebuild engines my self. We get so many sent to us which people have messed up.
But.. if its a good engine. you need the full engine loom, ECU and i think the dash loom+Fuse box adons. as well as the engine of course. looks like they put alot into the engine its self so should be a winer.

ok cheers. apparently he's done 10000 miles i think it was so hopefully it should be ok.

hi taff22 did you go ahead with this conversion? As ive tried the same myself but just cant get the car to idle, so was just wonderind what you have done in the way of changing it all to digi and any other mods you had to do to get it to work. Your help would be very greatfull
