Title: Not starting, fuel smell?
Post by: Godzilla on 09 April 2008, 14:57
I removed my earth wire yesterday to give all a good clean, replaced all and car wont start. Thought it was the alarm so have been outside for the past 2 hours taking it out, alarm is now out, got an original earth lead and retried, nothing!  Rung a VW dealer and they said did I remove the live when I cleaned the earth, to which I didnt. He said I could have fried the ECU as they are senstive on the Digifants.....  anyone agree with this or could it be something else?

The car turns over but wont start. When iginition on the engine constantly makes this humming noise and stinks of petrol if left for a min or so.  She always used made a humm when igintion on but for about 2 seconds but then it stopped.
