Title: GTI Virgin
Post by: Wilko2008 on 08 April 2008, 12:19
Hi everyone.

Nice to be here; I am just purchasing my first ever Golf GTI 3 dr - a new one (Mk 5?).

I am really looking forward to it, having had a Mercedes C Class Coupe and being horrified at my continual shelling out of huge amounts of money on servicing etc, and also a warning light that kept coming on!

Anything specific I should know before I take delivery at the end of this month?

Thank you for all your kind words, I think I am going to like it here.

I have gone for Black and as for spec, it is a pretty basic 200bhp FSI with a DSG auto box. I haven't gone for any of the bolt-on extras as I think there is enough for me at the moment!

Look forward to chatting with you all soon.

Will check out the delivery section of the forum and don't worry Rosie, I hadn't assumed that all GTI owners were guys. I wouldn't be so presumptious!

Aye that was just that bloody Len, he is so presumtuous, even though he knows there are girls in the mk5 fold.

Anyway, if you need anything give us a shout!

Piccies to follow...... when I have cleaned it!

You are right Greenouse, nice colour, but the cleaning is a bit of a blow especially with all this rain.

Still, while I am cleaning it, it gets me away from the family!

LMAO.

I will use that this weekend, showers permitting!

Also, I believe it is obligatory to clean it with a bottle of beer close by. It tests out the bottle opener in the centre console!
