Hi All,
I'm just looking for an honest estimate for how much it's gonna cost me to get a standard GTI race prepared and passed scruitineering.
I realise that it's difficult because no 2 cars are the same, so lets just say that i find a car that's standard. and in good condition, what's the minimum I'll have to spend.
I dont want to go all in at first spending hundreds on upgrades. I just want to be ready for the track. As cheap as possible (for now!)

Im prepping a car at the moment , im taking my time with it an doind all the work myself
it depends on how much u can actaully do yourself i think but as a rough estimate id work around these figure
Roll cage 300-400
Fire extinguisher 100-200
Race seat 200-300
Harnesses 100-150
Wheels 200-300
brake overhall 100-150
Tyres - There is a nominated supplier so im not sure how much these are at the moment
suspension 200-300
going at these prices and working on the assumption that the car is in good condition should get you on the grid , but remember that youll have to factor in your race licence , and personal safety equipment , IE helmet, race suit
of course you can spend alot more than that or sometimes buying a ready built car is often cheaper

There are several cars floating around for sale at the moment. Pop down to Brands on the 19th and have a word with Ian Carvell if you want one thats on the button.

Very useful topic for me!
Would love to do something like this
Damn Uni getting in the way
I read on ClubGTI that you could get a race ready car built up for about 2k and then take it from there
But it can cost way way more depending on how you go
