Hi All
I have as below, ABT quads with rear valance and what looks to me like ABT sideskirts....perfectly happy with the car as is, but sometimes I look at her and think that the front needs a wee tweak to complete the picture...what do we reckon? I dont want to go too low, whats the general opinion?

hummmmm, not sure what the ABT one looks like??
-
I think you just need to colour code the one you have then it will look great
-
I think like this ....

The GTI does look good with those rims
What about a colour coded votex/ED30 spolier??
-
that one looks too low, maybe lots of scrapage :lipsrsealed:
OSIR
-
did you buy this car from an ad on Pistonheads?
I had a look, and waited, but could not refind the ad, it is a nice looking car.
-
I think that possibly a simple colour code will give the look of 'extending' the splitter as black will cut it short.
Nice car though!! Sometimes i look at the Red GTI's and regret going 'safe' with black. (duck's and hides from all Black GTI owners)
-
Looks like this:
A warning though, you will scrape every bump you come across, even at standard ride height. Mine is actually a bit better over speed bumps now its on coilovers as there nit so much rebound.

....Have you considered the OSIR front splitter? Not quite as deep as the Abt and so a bit more practical imo.

-
Expensive option - the one RedRobin had, cheap option - colour code the one you have
-
Quite a choice of splitters to choose from...Red's is nice...if your willing to spend the money on your car go for it...ifnot just have it painted?
-
....I've always been good at spending money, whether mine or someone else's!
I assumed that if NoGolfClubs was prepared to buy an Atb splitter, then an OSIR wouldn't be too expensive.
-
I hadnt considered painting it at all....but probably will now, thanks.
Just think it completes the car..if you see if side on, it has these lovely sides and rear then an almost stock front end...but I must admit, I dont want to go too low, theres a lot of nasty bumps around here and dont want to go grounding her every five minutes.
thanks for all your comments and thoughts, and yep the car was on Pistonheads a while back.
If I make a decision I will repost some pics, but for the moment its just an idea.

To answer your question - yes, definately.
IMHO - Stick with Abt - don't mix/match
RR's very nice though

nothing wrong with mixing and matching aslong as they suit each other.

....I couldn't agree more. It's more important that they suit each other - But I would say that! I've got an OSIR front, R32 sides, currently Abt rear changing this week to a R32+OSIR cf exhaust trim rear. Pics will be posted after the GTI Spring Fest.

I think the ED30 front spoiler would look fab, does anyone know where to get this done?
Or can it be ordered painted and does it simply bolt in place of the stock front spoiler?

This one has ended, but they pop up from time to time.
-
awesome gti have them. quite pricey thow!! :undecided:
-
The ED30 front spoiler is a good option. Expensive, but worth it. Some aftermarket spoilers sit lower than the side skirts and spoil the flow of the look of the car from the side.
-
I definatly think you should put on a new spoiler!!
Looking to do the same to mine

Hi
I have a Golf with ABT front & Rear valance and side skirts.
I think if you have the side skirts you should have a diffrent front valance because the side skirts are so much lower than standard, but a word of warning the ABT valance is to low and has two points on the front that are very vunrable i damaged mine by just touching a standard curb while parking it also rubs on large speed bumps.
Please see photos

SiGibbo - thats a nasty bit of damage, i was looking at putting that front spoiler on mine but with different sides and probs gona have to be a custom rear coz of my exhaust.
Anyway, was going to ask, have you managed to get it fixed? How did you get it fixed and how much has it set you back?
Obv with anything you do to a car, its more to go wrong and more to pay out etc, but i just feel my car looks to high off the ground with the 19's on and i feel at 30ml lower its at its limit, so my next option was to put a kit on.
Anyway, post back and let me know pleeeease!

I Havent had time to look at getting it repaired yet so not sure on cost of that yet.
Mine is on 19's on standard suspension and i think it looks just right with the kit on, but you do have to have the front valance and lower side skirts or i think it would look odd.

Is the ed30 front valance expensive? the ebay link showed one for £90 or so...
I guess it then needs prepped, painted and bolted on.
-
ED30 front spoiler should come primered ready for paint
