Fook that's low!
The back needs a tweak upwards to sit level with the fornt though?!
-
Blimey! Is it driveable that low?
Nick
-
thats sweet like what you have done to the wheels, mk 5 stylee
-
HOW LOW   thats sweeeeeeeet dood!
Best Estorils i have seen!!
-
that looks great! how does it drive?
-
Thanks guys :)
Handles Like a go kart haha
It's driveable I just have to watch it when going into driveways and such!
88 wrong way round I dropped the front to match the rear
-
Agree with 88, the back looks lower than the front!
-
Needs to be lower!
Any rubbing on the archliners yet?
I find when your turning tight corners the tyre clips the arches unless they have been rolled properly!
But any hoot looking low and rude MkII's need coilovers defo!

You can't talk with ur 4x4 Len! I lowered the front after I took that picture to get it sat level it's my road thats a hill!!

I can get full lock without scraping and take tight corners quickly without catching so I'm a happy dubber :) Coilies are the way forward!
-
how is your oil sump holding up ?
Once again those alloys look amazing :afro:

Right defo not low enough LOOL!!!!
You need to fill the arches some polished D90's would look mean on your motor! But like the ones you got also!
-
looking
now I must get round to fitting mine!! .....soon.....

Thanks buddy :) Sump is alright it's the mid section of the exhaust that gives a little Ding if I go over a driveway or on my way out of the garage.

I have the right offset with them been original mk2 wheels so I can go lower if I had the adjustment. I've been thinking of taking off the helper springs but that might just be a bridge too far!
D90's have adaptors and I don't like them they're evil!!
-
I would never put D90's on unless i had 5*100 hubs already modded to take porker fitment.
Spacers are only dangerous if you stick with the original 4*100. Its fine from 5*100.
The problems with spacers is the strain you put on your bearings due to the weight and off set.
Plus the rear MKII suspension set up allways sits at a slight negative camber I think?
You can get adjustable cambers, but aren't cheap to get that balanced ride!
-
are they the same coilovers that they are advertising on here for £179 direct
but your advertising a group buy fot £150
Just wondering like
PS. Car looks the mutz nutz -
-
'kin hell thats low!
-
you guys might find this a bit controversial, but I really think a car lowered that much looks cack.
It doesn't have a proper stance, losing half the back wheel looks like an old citroen which obv isn't a good thing!! lol
When ever I see it I just think of the MK2's I used to see down McDonalds where some 17 yr old had cut his springs in half and then stuck 4 other people in the car, driving round really slowly dragging the cars arse around.... its obviously just my opinion, as are all things to do with styling/taste. For the record I love the colour and also the wheels, just not the low-ness of it!!!!
I also doubt very much that having a car that low, with coilovers wound down to the bottom with pretty much no travel left is better for the handling and or ride quality.
Just my 10p worth anyway, if your happy then thats what counts......
-
I hate the gap between wheel and arch it offends me! Admittedly mine is maybe a tad too low for "normal" driving but once your going for it a bit on corners it's great fun! there is actually a bit of travel left in the shockers and I find the ride less harsh than when I had cheap shocks and lowering springs on. Plus if I get bored I can always wind them up a bit :)
-
'kin hell Scott!
How's it handle?
Better than standard?
I can't decide between springs & shocks and coilovers :undecided:
-
top work looks sweet
i need these in my life!
group buy still on?
-
Fook me till I fart!
Whats it like driving underground??
-
It handles Great bit harsh but driveable  I think I'm going to raise it up a bit though, I think it's more the look how low I can go effect! might not though as it looks sweet :)
Deffo coilovers buddy, springs and shocks worked out more expensive than the £150 delivered I paid through the group buy, theres another one on at the moment.

HAHA now got coffee all over my keyboard
-
Ahh sweet if the handling's improved it's all good :afro:
It'd look sweet with the arches resting nicely just on the wheels
Loving the rims!
Shame I always miss the HuddsVAG meets now
-
Aye even Dinx showed her face, it was snowing and loads of people had gone, there was just the few stragglers stood talking in the snow. I thought she had come all the way from the toon to a meet
-
 What was she doing down this far?
Gonna be missing most of these now due to work
Had a gander at the pics and looked like a good meet!
(Apart from any snow obviously  )
-
