Title: removing rocker cover and timing belt cover

im stuck i have taken all the things off needed to get the rocker cover off but the timing belt wont lift off how many nuts or bolts hold it on i have took the two nuts at the top off but it still wont lift off any one got a clue please. golf mk2 gti 8v k-jet

I'm not sure what the timing belt has got to do with the rocker cover?? Do you mean the timing belt cover?? If so there is a hidden nut in the middle of the cover.

how do youget to the nut. mate and do you no the size its because i want to paint them both but the rocker cover wont come off intill the timing belt cover lifts off with it mate

On mine (16v), there is a hole in the middle of the cover, inside that is a 5 or 6 mm hex key bolt.

just got it mate thanx it was a allen key type of brass plug that held it in got it all of for prep work now and new gaskets cheers mate
