Right iv got a 1990 digifant 8v golf gti I recently brought a re-con k-jet engine, to put into my car. Iv changed the injector inserts over put my old digi ones in and my inlet manifold on wired everything thing else up and now my problems have begun the engine fires/starts but just won't pick up or idle - it cuts out after a few seconds but will re-start straight away - I'm using my digi wirning harness so its just the block ive changed to k-jet. Head has a Kent cam in it and vernier cam wheel - can't see any timing marks on it but was set up when I bought it and the seller had it running in his car ebfore he changed it. It does start so am guessing cam timing not an issue. Plugs look a bit sooty - it seems to be a air/fuel issue - vacuum leak maybe or something else - any thoughts please?

some k-jet heads have a vacuum pipe between inlets 3 & 4, if so you'll need to block this off.

thanks rubjonny for replying to this post. Since i irst posted this question on here iv sen my car off to a garage to sort it out for me, i know that they have blocked uop the hole on the back off the head but there still not havibg any luck woth it idleing. If anyone has any ideas i will most grateful

whats the fuel pressure like, might be worth checking the lifter pump is working ok.
