are the mk2 and mk3 knock sensors the same?

as above. just had delivered an agg complete bottom end to replace my pb.
the knock sensor that the breakers kindly sent on the agg lump is mint, but mine has seen better days!
are the 2 compatable?

if the plugs are the same then yes, even if your ECU is bosch and your sensor is siemens as i found out!

bosch and siemens are the same thing, siemens make the bosch parts. I work for Siemens see :)

aha! so the ecu's will be the same inside then? i ask because my project wont fire and it may be a dodgy ecu. it usess a siemens unit and the daily uses a bosch unit, so i can swap them over to test my theory?

Should be fine to put the working one in the project, that way you can eliminate the ECU.
