Hi Guys,
I've just completed my first 'How To' Guide.
I hope its of use to some.
The guide is a simple step by step with photos at each stage helping you replace your Rear Courtesy Light with LEDs.
Any problems, errors or assistance please feel free to shout.

Sure- The final fronts should arrive tomorrow (Didn't realise there were 3 bulbs there as ordered before i got the car) so it'll be blue all inside - I'll take a pic tomorrow night.
The blue is in no way anywhere nears as bright as the standard - but with the silver car and black leather i persoanlly think its a nice touch (just need to do the door led soon).

what bulbs did you order for the front mate or are they the same?? I'll sticky your topic in a bit mate once you've answered my question :grin:

Yup these were the two that arrived today. I'm sure its the same in others but in my car the front interior light actually has 3 bulbs in it. The left and right are these and the center one the other link.
The left and right can be turned on with the switch and the center just when doors open.

No not really thought about those tbh - Not even sure how to unclip them.
I guess a brighter light in them is of more use than the blue - what are peoples thoughts?

if you've gone LED in the others, why not put some "ultra bright" white ones in them, think they pop out like the rear ones, ash will know as he had his out when he sprayed his.

I 'guess' any 5mm would work - its just i know for a fact the ones i listed work as thats what i have used. You'd need to make sure there is a resistor with the LED.

i just had a quick look on maplin because there is one near me and looked at the N22FN, could you see if that looks like it'd do the job please? been too long since i've played with electronics to remember how to check it all

As there is no pic i'd not like to say for sure - worth a punt at 49p though!

You'll notice a little brown resistor under the LED on the right - make sure it has one of those otherwise they may just blow.

I'd say not as the wires just leave the LED with no resistor.
I may be totally wrong with this resistor thing - i'm just going on what works in my car - happy to be proved wrong. The website i listed in the how to guide have the LEDs but they are £1.10 (3 times as much, but may be worth is as you know they'll work).

depends how much voltage is going into the bulb, and what the LED is

i'll get a night time pic up as soon as i go out at night to a place with no street lights.
They are not as bright as the standard yellow thats for sure but its a finishing touch rather than a light enhancement for me.

Looks easy enough from what ive seen - think Wazzzer on here does the wire ready to fit

think it was £27; not a great saving but it all helps :wink:
dead easy to wire in; even i managed it!! the wire for the LED's runs along the front of the headlining where it meets the windscreen and down the A pillar. A Pillar just pulls off; then wire it into the dimmer wire.
I built it up myself but from what i've seen Wazzer's looms are OEM quality :afro: He also does the Bora Vent looms too :afro:

ive picked it up from the stealers u!!! thats it. got the paint, just rub all the other equitment then ill be ready to go and ive borrowed a heat gun from a mate 2 to get the old one off.
will ring the dealers again for the w8 light tomorrow anyone have a part number?
