Title: condensation in Rear Lamp
Post by: spikeydoodoo on 31 March 2008, 20:04
Hi people, spent a fair few hours buffing the ed30 at the weekend & noticed I had a huge amout of condensation/water ingress in the light, I took a picture:

I'm pretty sure this is not the norm?  should this be covered under warranty?

Thanks

Yes it is normal. Sometimes i get it when i wash my car in the sun. Clears up within an hour or so. If it doesnt heal then you can get the lamps replaced under warranty (mine was replaced).
Leave it in the sun and it should clear up.

Ah, thanks for the replys, only happened on the one side - i thought the light might be leaky?  when your light was swopped did it stop happening.

i get a little bit every now and then when i wash it in the sun but it clears up by the time i've finished washing it. Its common on MK5 Golfs

Never had it in the tail lights. High level brake light  - yes, but the dealer is sorting it out today.

....Yep, same here - It soon goes and has only happened once with my standard front and tail lights, and once with my new LED tails. It's always happened on cars but is more evident with modern crystal clear materials.

I had this on both sides of mine (just the sections on the boot lid), mentioned it to them when it went for its first service, they took them off, checked the seals, refitted them and they haven't misted up once since! Go figure!
