Had a hankering for one for ages, went & saw one before I bought the 16v :undecided:

How much do you reckon' you can get a 'project GTi' for?

Obviously I'd make it look like the pic, but want something else to stick in the garage & dream about!!

Used to Beetles so a crusty MK1 won't be too much of a shock! :grin:

not wrong at all, i just wouldnt want one as my daily! the mk2 is just comfortable enough

Not wrong at all mate, the first and IMO still the best GTI's. Could be expensive though  :undecided:

theres a mk1 gti for sale down my way in a paper i saw the other day for 900, probably absolutly shagged though

go for it mate, they look mint, you feel like mint when driving it and they are soo coooool!  :cool: but beware, they cost alot to maintain, not really a daily car! i tried it and should have just used it at weekends and spent some cash on a 1.8t lump. maybe next time  :wink:

another thing to add about that picture i posted... notice the lack of front indicators?? that'd be because they've been relocated to inside the headlight  :laugh: :laugh:
