Just wired this up last weekend,

Just soldered straight onto the brake light cluster. Look where the brake light bulb is (lower outside corner) & you can make a connection on the metal either side of the socket.

ok cheers mate, so it's just a wire from the rear lights? might just get one that sticks onto the back window, is that the same?
Cheers

Yea, you'll probably find it comes with enough wire to reach that far.

Probably easier too as you can keep the wiring inside, behind the head liner then down behind the inside trim to get to the light cluster.

Let me know if you get stuck & I'll throw up a pic of what I've done!

Into the brake light circuit.

do i detect a hint of sarcasm? yeah like mike said is good but if you cant be bothered with soldering try scotch clips and chop into the brake light wires finding them with a voltmeter. its pikey but it'll work!

Hey guys,

I've got one of these sitting in my study ready to be bolted on  I bought it off ebay USA as it was standard fitment on their cars. Aus spec cars had another type of third brake light that mounted onto the rear window.

Benny T: How did you route the wiring through the tailgate? The original fitment actually had a different rear window, with a small hole in it for the wire to go through!

cheers,
Trent
