As i'm toying with the idea of buying a GTi, just want to know a few things before i buy one.

What is the 0 to 60 time in the MK2 16v GTi??

And what is the BHP ??

0-60 = 8.5secs
bhp = 140

cough 8secs cough (official vw figures by the way, most people think its quicker, except mk3 8v owners)

I was told *no names given* that the official VW owners manual states 8.5secs  ::)

From the VW Motoring Magazine Feb 1987 test driving the first 16v it give 0-60 in 8.1 and VW giving 7.9.

Everyone in the business reckon that a 60k 16v was the fastest out of the lot. Although it was a claim i never aw a magazine actually take it up.
