Hello,
I wan't to get a Tow Bar or a roof rack on my car, I do a lot of kayaking and need to carry these around! Just wondering if any of you have fitted a tow bar or roof rack, what would be cheaper or easier to do?
I have had a look at buying tow bars and they are not expensive, are they complicated to fit? Any recomendations?
Cheers

i beleive now, if you fit a tow bar yourself, you have to have it checked and aproved by "someone". not sure how true that is or who the someone is. imo best to get it fitted properly if you go for a tow bar and they do all the electrics.

assuming that you're only going to be carrying 1 or 2 kayaks then i'd say go for a roof rack as its going to be much cheaper than a tow bar and trailer.
i've seen genuine VW roof racks go for about £40 on flea bay, and you can get copy ones for a similar price.
BTW love the signature!

depends what you prefere to be honest extra bonus of a tow bar is that if some thingy tries to drive in the back of ya they hit that first :D

Well when I take the boats down we also have a laser sailing boat on a trailer and I can put the kayaks on that, and as Linz says, it protects the back of the car better
Il ring around some garages and see what they charge!
BTW love the signature!
Haha, cheers, took it off the DVLA website, I get annoyed with those middle lane drivers on the motorway that just sit there cruising and not actually overtaking....!
