Title: Valver power steering leak......
Post by: frboyz on 24 March 2008, 16:19
Hi all, my beloved valver has sprung a power steering leak from what appears to be a metal tube at the bottom of the steering column cover, it sprays to the right, ie all over the exhaust down pipes! Any ideas what this part is so I can get a replacement please?

You've got two metal pipes coming to and from the PAS rack. Both of which have 'banjo' unions at the end, along with a copper washer either side. Have a go at replacing these four washers, but at the same time check the pipes, as I've seen some split at the join. If you need a replacement part, either try a scrappy or go to VW, and prepare to have you pants pulled down.

Thanks for the replies - the leak seems to be coming from the metal structure below the pipes you show in the photo, as if it has split, what is this part - any ideas?
