Title: Painting rocker cover

I want to colour code the rocker cover on my mk3 gti. looks a bit tatty and peeling, but i hope no screws and bolts will ping off everywhere! :laugh: any tips?

de-grease it, key it up or etch prime it then spray away! hammerite work very well and can take the temperature.

just remember to use a new rocker gasket for refitting.. and post your results as mines due to get painted..
oh yeah hamerite..lots of colours,cheap and easy to use

Most automotive paint is heat resistant up to 500 deg, so any tin from Halfords will suffice.

And like Joe said, it's all in the preperation, remember to use a good primer and lacquer.
