Title: bottom ball joint sizes????

hello bottom ball joints sizes 17mm and 19mm. Does anyone know what goes on which car or do they all vary

I have 8v but i want to upgrade to G60 brakes, I need a new ball joint. so if g60/16v hubs are 19mm i will do brake upgrade now

Any help would be great

Mk1s and early Mk2s were 17mm, later Mk2s 19mm, can't remember when changed, may only have been GTIs or valvers. I have some G60 Corrado hub carriers on my car: these are 19mm. Discs are 280s.

they changed in around 87.  but its best to measure what you have, someone may have swapped the wrong hub on in the past :)
