any ideas where i can find the engine code for my  mk2 8v its an 89/90 on a G plate. cheers

I think its on the V5 as well as on th car, on mine its the first two letters of the engine number.

i presume its a gti dude?

-GTI 8v without cat = 'PB' (common)
-as above with cat  ='PF' (rare in uk)

it is stamped on the front of the block, just below the head and above the distributor, but its quite tricky to see as the rust normally eats at it lol

its in the logbook as said, aswell as being on a white sticker attached to your boot floor.
