Hello, does anyone know where to get a heavy duty gas strut from for my boot lid.
as ive mounted the speakers and amp to the shelf and its abit to heavy for the normal one, and it aint faulty, tried a few.
Cheers.

tin top i'm guessing?
i dont think you can get stronger ones... but i may be wrong...
maybe just don't have your parcel shelf attached to the bot lid and lift it up by hand when you need to? Or do you use the boot a lot?
Maybe think about relocating your amp?
-
I believe you can use ones from older Audi's which are better due to the heavier boot lids on them..
-
do you know wat year am lookin for?
and does anyone know the pressure of the mk1 golf gti ones?
-
you'll just need one that the same length i guess so car year oesnt matter. but if audi bootlids are heavier then itll be ok.
-
the year would be handy, as when i ring up breakers, the first thing they'll ask is wat year audi.
-
be easier to go down yourelf with a tape measure imo. Pop in ask where the audi section is and set to! My local scrappy is 2 mins down the road...
unless anyone who has an audi and they all want to go and measure them for you to find out what length theirs are? There may be someone who knows but i doubt it..

90-94 audi avant estate.
should be fine. preferably estate, although they only have one strut on them, so it should be more than enough to lift an amp set up on a bootlid.

thanks slick, even the golf mk1 only has 1 on the boot lid, so should be cool.

Found a place in derby that will re pressurise them alot more than they are standard.
standard there 470N, they can pressurise them to 700N, which is roughly 100N to every 10kg you add.

cheers.
