Title: Model question
Post by: tyeayo on 12 April 2004, 06:46
Hello all, I am new to the whole Golf owner thing ;D, and I recently bought a golf, there are a couple questions I have and hopefully one of you will be able to help me out.

1.  How can I tell what year my Golf is?  I think its an 84, not sure though. (The lady I bought it from was not all there and she doesn't know) ???

2.  How can I tell if its a GTi, or MK2 or anything like that. ???

3.  Is there anyplace online that I can buy older VW model parts? ???

Again, thank you for your response.

In your doc's that you signed it will have the year made on them. To get a rough idea have a look at what your reg number is. That will give you the 2 years that it should have been made( failing that no-one has changed the plates or anyhting like that) In the docs( which I always check before buying a second hand car) will have all the info about the car Type.    i.e. gti,      engine size, chassis number and lots of other crap. hope this helps.
