Title: New Mk2 fuel pump - should it have a rattle?

Hi folks,

Glad to be back on the forum after a bit of an absence.  Doing a few jobs on the car (Mk2 16v) including replacing lift pump and fuel pump.  Just got hold of a genuine VAG main ful pump, brand new......it all looks good but if you give it a shake or turn it end on end there is a rattle inside, a bit like a ball-bearing in an aerosol.

Can anyone who has handled a new one tell me if this is right?
