Can it be removed without having to drop the subframe and rack, ive got powersteering, Looks rather tight. I presume I will need to remove the gear linkages and twist it round??
-
yeh gear linkages will have to go, shouldnt have to drop the sub frame down, with the linkages outa the way it with a bit of wiggling it'll come out.
-
ive removed an 8v with no troubles. however this one seems v. tight
-
ye i had to change my 16v downpipe had power steerin to could not get it out and had it on the jcb forks in the air with me underneath lol
ended up cutting it in the middle where it bends pulled the rest out from the top.
-
Bloody hell!!!!! it was tight. ive got a pit which was an advantage. had to bend it right round and also remove the gear linkage thingy. took about 30 minutes of carefull easing and out it came.
-
now to get the new one back in
-
I've replaced it with a 4-1 which I just manged to weve in from the top had to take the rocker cover off to fit it. Again it was bloody tight. Also fittied a second hand miltec exhaust, needs a bit of adjustment as the back as its not sitting quite right but ive run out of energy.
-
I've been doing mine today, without the benefit of a pit and Jesus - how tight?
Think I'll try taking the gear linkage off tomorrow (weather permitting :undecided: ) and have another crack.

you will need some huge ramps i literaly had to twist it all the way around good luck!! you will need it.
