Title: Overheated

Went cinema tday and all the coolant pored ot from the resevoir where you fill it up, any idea on what it may be? should i replace the cap? or the radiator? it never showed signs of overheating, the light didnt flash, and only showed high temp when it boiled over?

 ???

Hi Dan.
Check the cooling fan is working, there is a sensor on the radiator and it you connect the two connections together the fan should run. If it don't run, check the fuses and check the fan turns by hand (ign off) to make sure that it has not seized form its hibernation.

Let the car run for a bit and got to nearly 3/4 on gauge and fan never came on, it spins by hand, what can i connect the 2 pins together with, i dont want to electricute myself or nethin  ::)

Also be careful spinning it over by hand..........although it sounds like yours isn't working, they have a tendancy to start up without warning and you could hurt yourself.

Use the paperclip on the sensor plug.........if the fan kicks in then you need a new sensor.......'cheap as chips'

awesome gti sell a sensor that makes the fan kick in quicker than the standard one. Might wanna check it out.

One of the wires had snapped off, fitted a new clip on the end working now  ;D might have a look at one of them sensors blue  :)
