So after a long three months wait constintley wasting all my time on vortex, youtube and this forum looking at pictures of R32s, watching videos of R32's and trying to find it any information i can about the R32 i thought it would end today. Got a call from the dealer today saying the car is in Gib and i can go down to have a look at it if i wished and i could clear the balance at the same time. Got there, sat with my dad as we arranged methods of payment etc and i just heard that sound of the V6 from outside. Got up, ran outside to see this.

After everything going so well over the past three months the smallest thing happens to annoy me. Its a short week this week over here due to easter and stuff so they will not have enough time to register the car by the end of the week and let me enjoy it for easter. They close on thursday half day and re open on tuesday. They have not received some certificate or something from VW either which wont allow them to register the car either. Abit annoying being able to see the car and sit in it but not even being able to drive it. Just a few more days left...hopefully next week tuesday or wednesday the R32 will be in my hands....
Oh and as i sat in the recaro seats i thought to myself they are much much more comfortable than the bucket seats in the GTI. Obviously thats my opinion. Im quite a big/chubby guy and the sides of the seatsin the GTI used to like squeeze my love handles lol xD
Spec includes Recaro's, RNS 510 Sat Nav, MFSW with Highline, Parking Sensors, Centre Armrest, Alarm.
Thanks for reading!

Pics are a must when you finally get her
You don't see many red R32's about and it'll look great in that sunny climate you have over there.
You'll have to censor the pics for redrobin as he might do something messy over the PC monitor
-
There will be some carbon fibre in the right places hopefully...shame it costs so much!
-
Congrats Manu
You must have the biggest, largest, widest grin ever on your face just thinking of when you get it

Indeed i do...it will be twice the size when i actually get it
-
Looking good Manu, the wait be worth it in the end!! Make sure you pick up the car on your own so you can yell screams of joy and excitement on the way back!! I certainly did!
-
Manu - firstly congrats and bummer you wont have her for the weekend - bloody white tape and process, bah to it.
Just noticed on your sig the R32 doesn't have smoked rear clusters - take it they only come on certain colours?
-
The R32 is so understated hardly looks any different from a GT from the front and side!
-
The R32 in my Sig is a US Version therefore is auto, three door and in the US they dont get the rear darkened clusters, they get normal rear lights. I checked yesterday if my R32 had darkened clusters and they did....dealer called me up today telling me i could pop down later today or tomorrow to take more pics so i might do that and post them up
-
which is exactly why i like it, doesn't turn heads unless your right foot wants it to
-
congrats manu, il be on xbox later if you fancy a game on halo3. cars looking
-
The car was looking exactly how i was expecting it to be...dont think i had ever been as excited as i was when i heard the car drive over to the dealer....will try and get some more pics up asap
-
Its all about the noise!!

So...I went down to the dealer again today and there it was...all nice and shiny displayed in the window still waiting for some paper work to be done. Had a sit in it and the salesman told me, go for it....start the car up....it sounds really really sad but there is no word to describe that exhaust note! It put such a smile on my face  He showed me round the car now that it was clean and had a go at the RNS 510 aswell. Its the first car delivered with the 510 so he didnt know much about it but gave me the book, asked me to read it and have to return after the long weekend. Quite a descent bit of kit compared to the old RNS 500. The seats are really really really comfortable and even though the price, it might be worth it. Anyways il stop with the blabbering, here are some pics i managed to take. Couldnt take any of the front of the car as it was right at the window so people who drive by can see it

excellent couple of desktop wallpaper their manu!!, i bet your champing at the bit!
-
superb  the seats are just to die for...
nice GTI in the background (teasing )
-
Cheers Phil! Those pics are nice but im sure i can get some better ones once the car is allowed to leave the show room lol. What do you mean by champing :embarassed:
Oh...and the GTI was really nice, there was a white one, a black one and a red one which had all come on the same truck as my R32. They were all more or less the same prices but different ones had different specs. They all 18" Monza's though which really really do change the look of the GTI

english slang for cant wait to get hold of....

Ohh right...well we all know the feeling dont we!
-

or a Jetta from the front!
-
i've almost accidentally flashed a couple of jettas thinking they were R32's :lipsrsealed:
-
The grills are different thou, arent they? Im sure VW could have done something to make the grill for the R32 abit more...unique. I really like the R32 how it stands out n stuff with that brushed alluminium grill but im sure VW could have done something to make a flagship model stand apart from well....a jetta

Only the other day I said to lizzie "ooh look an R32" as we were driving along. It went past and had a boot. Ah well she was non the wiser.

Yes and that is my only critisism of the R32. They should have had a unique front for the R32 like they ahve done for the GTI.

I agree, although VW are trying to spoil the uniqueness of the GTI front by giving the GT a similar front

Ye i think they are doing that to shift more GT's as there are alot of tight people out there who dont like petrol and prefer economy.
Atleast when i go past a GT on the road i know my cars better than his  and its normally them looking at my car and wondering what if....
Some do think they GT is better than my GTi and normally put they foot down at the lights. I just let them get on with it making them look like tits :nerd:
-
Make the R32 a flagship model of the golf...possibly one of the most desireable cars for young ones but give it the same front as a Jetta...possibly my only criticism towards the R32 but what to do...hopefully they can come up with something abit more genius next time!

So Manu, are you considering getting the black OSIR carbonfibre front mask for the R32

I think it will look really good on the Red R along with the rear diffuser and the front splitter which im still expecting but...its something my dad will realise at the moment and not sure if i wanna be more of a headache than what i already am at the moment lol....Saw the price before, was something like £349 not too bad imo....
