Title: stickin throttle/ pedal

hi again i was drivin the beast (gti 8v) and the throttle stuck open and revved to around 5000 i had to dip the clutch to stop it then i revved it again and the pedal was really low but revved it again and come back up again! do you think this is the cable because the throttle seems to spring back ok and ive wd-40ed it but the cable seems loose.
how much slack should there be?

sounds like the throttle cable is nakered mate
