i have 2.0 block in my 8v pb gti i have recently fitted a new down pipe and the first box of the middle section now rubs on the heat shield and is annoying so i am after a spacer to lower the downpipe and want to know if anyone knows where to get one from or if i need to have one made how thick should the steel be i have it made out of
also anyone know where in sheffield i could get one made if needed
cheers

I've butchered a Passat downpipe here and have the top flange sitting around, still with the flexible joint on it. You could cut off the flexi-joint and put this flange in as a spacer. PM me if you want it - you can have it for postage.

i thought about doing same when i removed old downpipe but decided against it due to wanting something thicker
thanks for the offer though

sounds like something isn't right with your conversion, a std MK2 8v system wont hit the tunnel even if you fit a 2.0 block. Did you swap the MK2 engine mounts/brackets to the 2.0 block?
