Title: mk2 grill swap
Post by: DAVEMARX on 16 March 2008, 18:25
i want to change the look of my golf, i very rarely see golfs with corrado or jetta grills anymore.

ive found a jetta (1990) at my local scrappy in very good condition and was wondering what id have to do to fit it to my (1990 mk2 golf 8v digifant),..

i know the trend is to go with rally or corrado grills but the rally parts are hard to get hold of and know that corrado parts need a bit of work to make them fit...

can anyone help?..........

headlamps, grill, slam panel is all you need, straight swap.

yes you definately have to change the slam panel.

its held in by about 9 10mm bolts, two on top, either side, two bolting onto the chassis legs and one in the middle at the bottom, just about accessable with big bumpers if you look through the slot in the bumper.

I drive the car in my sig, minus the dog. And as for Jetta front ends, i think they look sh!t on the jetta and even worse on a golf, but hey, i'm not you!

Stick to original golf headlights. vw made them like that for a reason!
