Title: Which headlights?
Post by: Cupra Turbo on 09 April 2004, 20:45: Do you think next thursday I should order these headlights for my GTI?

I prefer the quad smoked lights cos their Hella, distributed by VW as an optional part, and compliment my smoked fogs etc better.

What you reckon?

PS: This thread is in the mk3 forum to get views from mk3 owners only seperately .. but is here because Im interested what other mk golf owners think...

Post by: Cupra Turbo on 09 April 2004, 20:50: Yea but theres a slight prob ... those smoked mk4 style are LHD only atm... the Angel Eyes are LHD only at the mo and the crystal mk4 style give good straight ahead light .. but poor side vision ... so they aint very good basically... :'(

I like the Mk4 Aniversary style to but not too sure about them on the mk3 now Ive seen a pic.

If i were to change my lights I would pick the Mk4 or if I didnt mind waiting till the Angle were RHD Id have them... Damn it buy em both lol... just swap n change when you feel like it ;D But thats only my opinion. ;)

Why dont you try something else though like a diffrent car all together might be a lot of work though,But if you choose right wil be worth it.

to much hassle. could look sweet though if you choose rite. I saw a A3 with a TT front cant member witch mag. It looked ok though.

Post by: modulater on 10 April 2004, 18:31: I always thought they used a beam defractor to align the lights on a car and to MOT test them.

Also although right hand drives lights are better because they actually light up the right side of the road you can get a left hand beam pattern light through the MOT by covering up the section of the light that defracts the beam to the right and that is perfectly legal.

I personally like the angel eye lights but the only ones that look any good are the FK automotive ones and they are about 179 bar for the pair.
