Hi all,
I did begin a ABF conversion on my mk2 16V small bumper but have run out of time & loss of a garage & drive way to work on due to change of job & moving, the car is currently sitting on my folks driveway & they wanted shifted fast
The Project is currently at this stage using my 89 mk2 2 door small bumper 16v as starting point
2 litre 16v ABF in & starts on KR system
on mk3 subframe & widetrack (new wishbones,ball joints,engine mounts)
running 288mm brakes & 5 stud all round (rear discs brand new brembo's) with bbs alloys & brand new toyo proxies
02a gearbox (new clutch fitted )& cable change in ( although I havent had time to adjust it so that gears can be engaged smoothly)
Power steering in and running
New oil pump
New Heater Matrix
New rear backbox (original look)
its currently sitting on Eibach , Bilstien suspension, the car it self is in fair condition for its age & what was a daily drive till the end of last year, theres rust spots bottom of doors & just in front of rear arches usual places i guess, its jet black.
I would say it needs probably another couple of weekends to get it road ready & proper setting up , fueling etc, theres tax on it till end of Nov 2008, it has a clifford concept alarm with remote start, which is great for cold mornings
i'd rather not sell it off bit by bit, as i've spent so long putting it together.
so how much is it worth?
cheers
Dil

You forgot to say how many miles the new lumps done or how good the bodywork is.
Its a really difficult one... If it was really good bodywork and average miles, I would say around £1500 as it can't be test driven (I assume?), making it a fairly risky buy.
Just my opinion though...

as much as someone is willing to pay - unfortunately
you gotta find someone wanting a project to take one - Good Luck .

the lump came out of a 125K M reg car, the body work isnt great , theres rust at the bottom of both doors, not huge amount a rub down & paint would fix that , I have a scratch down the right hand side on the rear quarter panel.
The drive shafts are all bolted in place, a speedo cable needs sourcing & fitting, its driveable , although I havent driven it yet.
to be honest i'd be happy just to get back what i've spent on the conversion, in the region of £600/700. Am i living in a dream world thinking i'd get that ????
cheers

should think you would get ya 600 back for it mate
-
As Chuff said, easy £600. Its a shame you did all the work and can't enjoy it tho.
-
i would get it trailered to my new place and work on it in the street if its almost done
-
i'd get the AA to tow it to my new place, unfortunatly other than leave it on the road ,i've got no drive to work on , so its on the folks drive for now, got a new job aswell so need a car desperatly for the commute, and this was going to be my daily drive if it had been finished in time.
i'll take some better pics next weekend & list out everything that needs doing, & will put it up in the forsale section, & see what happens, i'm sure it would make a great track car for someone.
cheers
