Title: Mk5 Angel Eyes
Post by: SKAVIA on 15 March 2008, 14:00
I know there's been a few front light threads flying around but I haven't seen any with these lights in them.

Although they don't have DRLs I think they look nice - any idea where one may obtain such a set?

....Personally I much prefer the ones which Hurdy and Komenda have fitted. The others are getting into the hallowed realms of Corsa country

They look OEM which is my main reason for getting them. Second reason is the spangly DRL's

....I'm sure I'm not alone in wishing to see those spangly DRL's on in bright daylight but photographed from not too close. In other words, to give some clue about their appearance when seen on the road.

What makes the DRLs look good to me is the fact they run during the day without side lights etc being on at the same time. I want these lights but without that option I dont see the point.

Did you get the silver indicator bulbs to replace the "egg yolk" ones?

None of the local shops had any so I have ordered some off t'internet. Went on really easy, had to solder the LEDs into the sidelight but that was no biggy. Also going to replace sidelight bulb with another LED.

Wouldn't replacing the sidelight make it illegal? :undecided:

True. But the sidelights gets swallowed up in the LEDs. Going to take a pretty sharp eye to spot its not a bulb. I hope

I can unplug the led and put the bulb back. The LEDs are on holders and plug in to a board in the light. I can plug the LED into the sidelight bulb holder and swap as required. I only use my car at weekends and even then not all weekends.
