How has he managed to do that with his lights?
Im thinking if he had clear bulbs in those straight strips under his dimmers and main beam it would look just like a set of daytime running lights....and looks damn cool!!!!

Aren't those simply the standard sidelights but with the additional small side markers which are required in America?
I understand that in America it's illegal not to have sidelights even if you have DRL's.

Those chicago rims look really nice on the GTI, my mom is currently flogging hers and thats fitted with them, wonder if she will notice if I do a swap... :rolleyes:

i noticed this before maxamus, when i posted the link. i think they are drl's as standard on the mk5 gti and i think they are for US spec and ozzy spec. if you go on google and type "golf mk5 drl" then go on images there are quite a few like this. i also stumbled upon on another forum where people were saying they have disconected them as they dont like them. if you search through google then theres some stuff teher but not rite much :undecided:. hope i made sense :smiley: :smiley:

my side lights are not like that. I've only got dimmers and main beams.
Wheres the option to turn the little strip of lights under them on next to the indicators??????

I've just been out in the rain and taken a pic in my yard but couldn't reproduce the natural sunlight of somewhere like Arizona for some reason I couldn't understand :wink:.
As will now be pretty obvious from my pic, I'm confident that he put on his hazard lights and snapped his pic while on. The natural lighting and angle (as opposed to mine) is much more convincing in his pic. Putting on hazards for a photoshoot is an old trick often done for added effect rather than to fool mod-hungry GTI enthusiasts like us! :evil:

I'm looking forward to seeing pics of your red R32! I've seen magazine pics and think that the Mk5 R32 looks best in red. Tornado Red is an especially good red :cool:

Just a few more days....dealer called up today to make sure we prepare all the paper work and bank transfer etc...so...deffinatley looking forward to it!!! Hopefully by Monday/Tuesday il have some pics up :smiley:

Those type of side lights (just the strip coming on) come with cars with xenon lights. Normal side lights i.e. inner round ones come with cars with standard lights.

I bet the next generation of Xenons (or their equivalent) have LED strips. The Scirocco hasn't though.

It's just the outside half of the strip that come on so I guess the photos must have been done with the hazards, like your picture. Or there was some funny natural lighting going on.
