Title: MK3 GTI 16V REVS..........
Post by: vdub virgin on 11 March 2008, 17:36
hi, can anyone help with this?
when you rev the engine then take your foot off the accelerator the revs very slowly fall back down, and not drop down as normal, very annoying and makes the k&n sound sh*t wen you rev it up!
ive tried oiling the throttle cable in case that was sticking and cleaning the butterfly in the throttle body but to no avail
anybody no wats causing it?

mine does this.

Check for leaks around the air box pipes etc, replace or clean any old ones

But from what I have been told this is fairly normal for the 16v.

Had the same problem, turned out to be a vacuum leak on the pipe from the inlet to the fuel pressure regulator.
