hey guys, is there an ajustment on the hinge that lets you pull door further in at the top, i seem to be getting a lot of wind noice and looking at the door when closed it seems to stick out slightly at the top.
cheers

The can be done by loosinging off the lower hinges and putting shims in. A much better fix is to get new half hinges from VW. Think they're about £7 per half hinge
-
thanks Pete, so do i only need to buy half of the hinge? and is it just a matter of swapping old for new?
cheers

each door has two top half hinges and two lower half hinges, it's the top hinges that bugger up. If yours is a later model you'll see the star drives which need to be removed to get the hinges apart
-
i take it i have to take the door right off to change these and also do i need to paint them?
-
yep they will need painting and the door will have to come off. You can undo the door and support it on a block of wood on a jack though
-
that sounds like an annoying one  glad mine aint bad yet now saying it knowing my luck it'll happen
-
i think i will just do both doors at the same time... i have noticed when i open the drivers door it feels as if it drops very slightly so i take it changing the hinge will fix this to
