ive just asked a bloke at urban racing how much he could fit some rear brake discs/pads for, he said its about 2 hours work max, an he asked me, does it have combined drum discs on that model? i dont know, do u? ??? and does 2 hours work sound about right to u? and anyone got an idea on how many ?'s its gonna be? :-\

U have Ventilated Discs at the front and Solid discs at the rear.
same as me.

2 hours labour is very cheap, considering the rear discs also house the wheel bearings in the hubs.
Some newer cars (not golfs) have small brake shoes inside the hub of the rear discs, these do the handbrake only.
As far as i know vw haven't used this on any of their cars.

BMW use the little drums inside the rear discs and have done since the introduction of the 3 series back in the mid eighties.
2 hours sounds good especially like VR6 pointed out that must include new bearings as its easier to drift new ones in then to knacker the old ones trying to get them out to swap over to the new disc's.
