Title: Price difference between Shell unleaded and Shell V-Power
Post by: 2007GTI on 07 March 2008, 21:16
I thought some people might be interested in this price comparison:

I put in 50.96 litres of Shell V-Power today.

Shell V-Power was priced at 111.9 and so I paid £57.02

If I had put in regular Shell unleaded at 104.9, it would of been £53.45..... £3.57 cheaper!!!!

It's a 20k car and you're talking about small change difference for a tank of premium fuel.

Ditch one latte/muffin combo and you've made your money back.

Thats my view on this..imagine beer the same as petrol..£1.10 a ltr.......But no,its £3.50(ish) a pint.
£28 a gallon...The equivelent in V power is a fiver a gallon.(4.54 ltrs)...  its 4am sorry apologies now if my math is wrong...

Its a bit silly to compare to anything else .. come on guys, you think if it was £28 a gallon you would seriously have that many guzzlers on the road.

Remember most of this is tax.  Hey I dont mind paying a little more for fuel but I remmeber when my Dad complained when it went to 70p a litre

Maybe a bit silly to compare. Just making a point. Most of us have no issues about drinking and paying for it,but stick a penny on fuel and there,s road blocks..Oh and the local has just stuck 15p on a pint this week... I,ll be there,cheers..

Never on any occassion drink and drive.

a penny is not a problem, just when its every month its soon adds up!  Wont stop me filling up like most.

If you comapare fuel prices from the past 5 years to the 5 year previous to that it has changes considerably.

Afterall you also have to remember the money your buying fuel with you have already been tax'd on...

Some of us do!! But the problem is not really comparable to the addition of a few pence on beer!

We can all choose to have a pint or not. But many of us cant choose if we want to put petrol in our cars... its a must!!
