Title: Wolfsburg Wolfbagger's bargain MK2 Gti
Post by: TDK on 06 March 2008, 17:10: You might like this, I'm co-pilot in this faded beauty in this years Scumball, I'm pretty sure the guy who co-piloted it last year (when the clutch cable snapped) posted something on here last year. This will be my 3rd Scumball (2006 driving an MX5, 2007 co-pilot in an E30 325 and this year in this *ahem* corker) and I've personally raised c.Ã‚£7000 for charity in the last 2 years. Anyhoo, I'm not here tin-shaking (yet), just hope you enjoy the short vid clip -

The car will feature in this years TV show pretty heavily, and I think TopGayer TV (don't ask) will be doing a prog about us, just don't tell the missus :grin:

The Golf Gti shown at 1min40ish (at Reims old F1 track) is a mates, 16v and turbo'd, I don't think he's on this forum, but he did a c.8'40 of the ring in it. Team Piston bud, its on YouTube somewhere. Awesome. There have been a few Gti's on Scumball and the odd Scirocco too. :cool:

I'm not here to plug the event, but I can honestly say its a scream. The website is rather out of date, but the forum is spot on, and there is a new site coming shortly. Its 5 nights in 4/5* accommodation, a couple of soft laps of Donington, a steady drive across Europe, and 10 laps of the Nurburgring. All in cars you lusted after as a kid but couldn't afford, but now depreciated down a level you can afford, albeit rusted to buggery. Its not a banger rally, max-power meet, or for those who take themselves too seriously, and it helps if you like beer and doing something for charity too. :smiley:

I generated a lot of media interest for my previous Scumball Rally cars (featured in car mags, on tv and radio etc), anyone interested in supporting us in return for a donation to Barnardos, drop me a line. Big logo on the car ? No problem !

i watch this vid the other day, it has made me want to hit the nurburgring even more :laugh:
