Hi guys, just wanted to see if any of you chaps with Ed30 (DSG) owners have had thier car on the rollers. If so what sort of power figs are you getting? I know there's plenty of Ed30's out there that are mapped, but the ones that are on these forums, all seem to be manuals (apart from Hurdy of course, but last I heard that hadn't been on the rollers yet).
I am basically stuck between the GIAC Hammer map (again haven't heard of any DSG Ed30's with this map yet) and the Revo map. After speaking with Revo, they say that the DSG loses a bit more power through it's transmission and has the torque limiter applied. But they say that on the road there's no difference as the DSG makes up for it with it's shifts..
So basically I just wanted to see if they are putting out less power and would like to see some RR power charts/graphs if poss..?
Can anyone help though?
Cheers..

I had mine on the rolling road when I went to Awesome to have the remap and the Carbonio fitted. Before fitting it made 242bhp and after it made 285bhp and 290lbft. Believe you me this is plenty in a FWD car. I am going back to Awesome on Monday for the Full turbo back Milltek system (inc free flow cat), ED30 specific Forge DV and the Neuspeed torque arm insert. Again it will have before and after remaps to see what the difference is. I'm hoping it doesn't drop 10bhp like Wolfbanes did .
Anywhere near 300bhp and 300lbft and I'll be as pleased as punch, as the DSG struggles to get more than 290lbft as above this you can get clutch slip

Didn't realise you'd already had it done mate ..
I'm not bothered about having over 300lb/ft anyway to be honest, as that's plenty. Just would like to see north of 300bhp from the map if I can. I know 285 is plenty, but I am one for wanting the most from things.. lol  And the fact that a manual ED30 got 320bhp with the GIAC Hammer map, would leave me being a little miffed if I was sacrificing 35bhp for having the DSG box.. :embarassed: Or could this just be down to RR lottery?

Don't get me wrong, i'm not just hunting for the biggest BHP map. It's just that the GIAC dealer I have been talking to (Stattler in Sheffield) was very very helpfull, has got a serious amount of good feedback off the S3 owners and is also less £'s than the Revo map and has the switch to go with it too! I do like Revo and have had no problems with my LCR in the 3 years and 70,000 miles it's been on it. But if I can get more power, good service and reputation all at a cheaper price, I can't ignore it really.. :undecided:

....My Revo Stage1 delivers just over 300 ft lb / 404 Nm to my DSG and I get no slip or other problems. This is considered as the sensible max which the established tuners recommend. There is more headroom but as you push the performance envelope, reliability potentially suffers. My DSG feels a lot smoother since the remap.
Btw, mine is a GTI, not Ed30.

No worries mate, cheers for the advice anyway.

Is this GIAC "Hammer" remap the basic remap (eg equivalent to a Revo Stage 1 remap) or the next stage up ?

Have you got a link to this feedback please ?
I live quite close to Sheffield and am beginning to warm to a GIAC map

I thought that the Hammer map wasn't recommended for DSG :undecided:
All S3's are manual
Stattler is basically my local as I live in Sheffield. I have also heard that they have a good rep and I'll possibly be using them for my brake, suspension and ATB diff upgrades in the future. The feedback I read was on one of the Audi forums, all good too.

....Definitely! I'm booked onto the forum's 'stand' at SpringFest and I usually get invited to a stand at Inters (or at least, my car gets invited!!).

I am keen to see what you get from the car with the milltek on and how the torq arm insert fairs, i ran my car at the 1/4 mile up here and engine hop/axle tramp whatever you want to call it wasn't as bad as my mk4 gti, although i did leave a lot of tyre rubber on the strip lol.My ecu needs to adapt to my map but wife insists on standard when she has the car so dont reckon am seeing the true 'hammer' map so to speak.
Giac advise no other mods req with my map but i am going to add a panel filter, the ITG one that Robin recommends.
Vtech i am sure GIAC modify the torq for the DSG's to a max of 300nm for their maps, i now of one who had to have it done on MK5 GTi DSG on ukmkivs

Yes mate, so I hear. It's 300lb/ft or around 400nm IIRC. Which is what i've got on my LCR and it's more than enough to be fair.
Got my build date yesterday (Week 14), so am looking at getting the car end of April (hopefully) So basically will be having the map in May time and will report my thoughts then.. Looking forward to it regardless of what map I end up with..
