Title: Genuine Radiators!

Discovered a nice hole in my radiator recently & have been looking for a new rad...

Here's the figures...

Scrap yard price for a "oh yea mate, definately works fine, tested it myself & barely been used on the 130K car we yanked it off" ............... £25-£40 :undecided:

eBay's finest 'German made' spanking new patent copy...... £40 + £20 P&P

So bit the bullet & popped into the local stealer brand new genuine VAG radiator..... £98 (inc. VAT)

So for genuine "not going to have to phaff about to get it to fit" radiator, only £40 more than none genuine parts?

Not bad I don't think? Just got to fit the damn thing now! :rolleyes:

i too am about to replace my rad.....one geezere at east anglia radiators qouted me £75 plus VAT.....deffo worth going VAG part with that price difference....altho i was tempted with the £39 ebay jobby

Not £39 though is it? Stick on £20 P&P & You're not much short for genuine parts!

i had the one on my jap car reconditioned, came back a few days later looking like brand new and has been on that car since, that was almost 10 year ago now...cant remember how much it cost tho :rolleyes:

i love my dubs (had a few and they have been in the family since forever)  but i absolutly love Jap stuff, just cannot be beaten on reliability plus the engines are a hell of alot better, just my opinion, iv grown up mainly on jap stuff so i guess thats why i have such a big heart for them

i had to opt for a eurocar parts one today as it went on the way to work and left me no choice....cost me £62 inc VAT...can't wait to fit it.......NOT!

£55.30 incl vat and delivery for the larger GTI radiator off the net. Fitted perfectly.
Looked exactly the same as the VW one that came off (minus the leaks of course)

i was gonna order one from Ebay at £39 plus £15 postage but needed it urgent for this w/end...can afford for my daily to be off the road
