Title: Syncro suspension options??
Post by: MK2Synchro16V on 05 March 2008, 21:08
hi. im new to the VW scene and have a syncro with a 16V engine in. it currently has G60 suspension on it. what i am wondering is is it possible to buy a coilover set for a syncro as i was browsing a site and it said coilover kit for golf mk2 (excluding syncro). what about the suspension set up is different to a normal mk2 golf? and is there anywhere that makes aftermarket kits for a syncro?? thanks a lot luke

probably best to speak to someone useful such as gwerks or venom, explain the score and get real help :afro:

the Syncro rear suspension set up is completely different to the 2WD Golf set-up.  It's independent as opposed to the rather primitive beam on the 2WD.

As someone's already said - you need a Rallye kit from UK suppliers, although you might need slightly softer springs, as the Syncro isn't as lardy as the Rallye.

Why do you want coilovers anyway?

Let me know if you want to sell on the suspension you currently have.

i dont specifically want coilovers. was just asking in general what suspension kits were out there. as in do they even do a -60mm spring/damper kit for a syncro. or should i just get some lowering springs for the G60 stuff i have??
