Title: Correct tyre PSI's??
Post by: tim145tim on 05 March 2008, 20:09
Hi there I have standard 16" anniversary alloys on my car...

they each have 205/50 R16's on there at the moment ...

Ive heard some people with the same wheels say they have 215/45 r16, and others 205/40 r16 etc...

so how do I know what psi is the right amount for my tyres?

anyone know?

If you can get hold of a Haynes manual check in there. I think mine says something like 22-26psi. Will check 2moro and post it up. I have a 1.4 though, so may vary slightly. If you dont have a manual/haynes manual or a sticker on the car somewhere that tells you tyre pressure, then go to Halfords and just check the pressure in a Haynes manual in store. That way you don't have to buy it!

ive been playing with my tyre pressures recently. got 205 40 17s. found 32 was a bit too hard. so dropped them down to 30 and was better. go with what ever is comfier but generally 30 32 psi

Hi

Haynes manual says 29 PSI front 26 rear for those tyres. Or a couple of PSI less if your only ever in the car on your own.
