Title: central locking motor??

help whats the motor in the case behind the drivers side rear light??? when i lock my car useing the blipper it keeps makeing a whirring noise,thought it was the water pump for the rear wash wipe.. :angry:

yeah its the central locking motor....and mine is quiet. I can hear all the locks work but no whir noise

stops whirring if u nip the red pipe with a pair of pilars, think its f--ked. rang gsf, over £100 for a new one.
o well good old e-bay bound to be some on there :laugh:

I got mine from Euro car parts 7months ago for £70 if thats helps  :laugh:

thx m8 got one from e-bay says its working so just hope it is..pain in the neck not havnd central locking :angry:

Well at least its an esy DIY job to fit.. i went without for a while, its seriously sucks ars£ haha  :grin:

probably got water in it -if it stays on for a while -take it to bits and dry it, lube with wd40 -clean the plug to it too .

Mine does exactly the same  - Whirring for about 30 seconds after the car is unlocked vw told me that it is all working correctly - its been like it for a year now so I suppose I will just wait till it finally packs up!

You may have a small air leak. The pump probably sucks until a certain pressure is realised.

hmm seems to be working ok today.  :undecided:pluged it back in to get the petrol flap open and it all seems ok :huh:, no whirring noise. will put it back propley tomorrow and see if its still ok. just brought one on e-bay for £30 includeing post so might have that for sale  :angry: never had all these problems with my mondeo :grin: :grin: :grin: :laugh: :grin: :grin:
