i was checking the water and oil on my 16V today and noticed a wire that doesn't seem to go anywhere. It comes off the side of the alternator, it's a thin wire than sort of pigtails out of the fatter cable. It has a connector on it that has a plug in it which looks like it snapped off of something........any ideas.....??
-
some have a spade connector on the back off the altermator check the back off it to see if theres anything missing
-
added some pictures to see if it helps......i've circled the small wire in red, and the plug with the snapped plastic attached is circled yellow

should be connected to the alternator -has a spring clip holding it on too

the spring clip is still on, i pinched it open and pulled plastic away but it obviously connects to nothing. what's it's function..??
-
it plugs into the front of your alternator dude, lookin directly at the alternator frm front of car, that wire cums up frm the rite hand side of the alternator n plugs into the front of it
