Title: Best engine temperature

Evening all,my daily drive is a ,83 gti with 208,000 + miles on the (original) engine and when I drive I allways keep a look at the engine temperature on the mfi,I just want to ask what temperture would you guys say is about right to give the engine a bit of a boot,I don`t really want blow the old girl up,cheers  4eyes   :)

Do you mean the oil temp on the mfa?, if so I usually wait until its over 60 deg before I give it the message ;D.

anything up to 145 is safe if it does ever go near 145 slow down.....or change gear..........

Only seen it hit 100 once since I had the car,145 hot dog.

thats should clean the valves!
