Hey guys, as some of you know I've just fitted my Hot tuning coilies, and the rides been bumpy, but a bit harsh as well....
Just had a look under the car and the helper springs are totally compressed, so, instead of a spring, they're a spacer...
Am I right in thinking that this is wrong and the reason for the uber-harsh ride? I know coilies are bumpy, but this takes the piss!
Do I need to lower the car more to free up the spring?
Please help, I'm on the verge of dumping the coilies in favour of springs....
-
You must have it REALLY low to be suffering this bad mate!?! Mines nearly on its arse and its fine!?
That little spring your talking about is designed to compress into nothing when the cars sat on the ground, its only purpose is to keep the larger spring in place when its jacked up adn so that it wont fail an MOT
Rich

are they fitted correctly??
pic of the car to see ride height may help, you got one?
shouldnt be that harsh the ride, mines on coilovers and its not bad at all
-
To be honest, its not even that low....

And they're fitted properly, maybe i'm just being a pussy....I live in the country you see, and the roads are sh!t!
So the helper spring situation is normal then?
-
Totally normal and stop bein a pu$$y

if you jack the back end of mine up the spring comes out of the seating!! not good when swapping wheel's as it needs locating every time!! (and getting your fingures trapped f..kin hurts!)..... I have ordered coil over's now tho
