At the moment my car is MOT failiure material because of the rear lights. The indicator light and reverse light are red, and i heard this is MOT failiure. I heard nail varnish can remove the tint from the corresponding light area to the reverse light and indicator lights. is this true? if not, what else is there to do?
-
reverse lights are not essential for the mot.. so maybe just remove the bulbs?
Green bulbs will sort the problem of the light flashing red on the indicators. Green bulbs still flash orange through a red tint.
Good luck.
-
yh sounds good. i'l try that.
-
my reverse lights don't work at all... so i know you dont need them.
but green bulbs def your answer to red tints.
-
yo i got a pair of standard lights you can borrow for the mot if you want buddy? when is it?
-
oh cheers russ. I'l try the green bulbs first anyway as i want to keep orange indicators though. Its due on the 6th of june, so still awhile to go. i also heard that the front water jets have to work for the MOT to pass. Is this true??
-
changing stuff for an mot is not the answer. you should flash orange by law, and it could be construed as a dodgy brake light causing someone to slam on (idiots i know) but coul cause a problem. they need to be orange.
-
yh thats what im saying. Thats why i want mine to be orange for the whole time not just MOT. but then again, no 1 has crashed behind me yet so...:D
-
Acetone that you can buy from your local chemist will take it off easy. Thats what ive used for removing light tint in the past!
-
but why remove the tint when the problem can be solved
-
i'l try the green bulbs first, if that doesnt work then i'l use acetone to remove tint.
cheers guys

Good luck finding some green bulbs
Umm yeah I was thinking how hard they would be to get hold off
-
hard ? Really, halford and motorworld will definitely do them. if they don't stock them you can order them. Gsf may do them... they are popular.
i know for a fact that motorworld have them as a stock line in the bigger stores and can transfer next day between smaller stores. i used to work there.
